Just wondering does anyone else think 15€ is extortionate costs for a club match tickets these days. Like is it any wonder crowd numbers are down.

Buy a Student ticket as they only ever scan the ticket, but yes €15 is a joke.

I think so too - got a bit of a dunt last weekend when Qtr finals were up to €15 - hurling now this weekend probably the same. It adds up when bringing your kids. along.

And what will the double header for the SFC semi finals cost? Neutrals for those ones like myself may well give them a miss.

True, we bought an adult & a student ticket and student card not checked but there could be hassle if they decided to clamp down on it.

No thought given at all to the people who don't have those sophisticated bank accounts with pans and pins attached. Then sometimes you get to a rural pitch and the stupid phone won't open. GAA is supposed to be an organization of the people, all the people, not just the nerds. It should be unacceptable if not illegal NOT to accept hard earned cash especially when the attendance is not expected to exceed capacity.

I am not talking about 'nod nod wink wink stuff' but when did it become law that you cannot pay for goods or services by cash?

Easy for the GAA to track cash. And ensure the get all the money they should from a gate. Most grounds you can pay in cash and the system has worked very well I'd say.

There's no law that says you have to accept cash; the county board could insist you pay for tickets in live chickens, and once they let you know in advance of the sale there'd be nothing illegal about it.

If they had scanners to take money at venues the GAA would for the first time have some level of control over revenue and people will be shocked at how much it rises and how much was going missing.
It would be worth offering a discounted price for scanned admission. people would find out how to pay cashless then.
