Indeed you are right I stand corrected the Leinster Junior was in 2004, regrettably the porter of recent days has laid waste to my memory

We are Meath is very good plus Rispins knowledge of the club scene is up there with most. I don't think they have anything against Ratoath or that, they hold them to higher standards and expectations than most clubs.

The way they go on about Kells can be a bit much at times. I would have liked to hear them be more critical given all their short comings. The likes of Kells, Ashbourne and Cilles have all fallen short and they don't seem to address it enough.

The SFC final match programme is an excellent publication but every page you turn there's the Respa blog. One page with all previews would be enough.

Replying To LeitrimRoyal99:  "Disagree tbh. I am on their Patreon. They would be at all the senior games. Mickey Brennan would have played against a lot of them. And Davy Rispin is extremely clued with clubs across all levels from what I've heard"
And your point is?

There is no questioning Davy Rispin knowledge of Meath GAa or the fact that Micky Brennan played football
And I am also a patron , my point is in my opinion they are bias to north Meath clubs evident in the amount of nominations they got in their team of the year awards , some of the names mentioned when you compare them to players not mentioned from senior clubs is laughable
If they are picking players who are invaluable to their own clubs well that is different but if they are picking the best player in that position in the whole county well then there is no credibility to some of their selections
also in my opinion Davy Rispin is not impartial in his blog or pod cast when it comes to Ratoath
I listen every week and in particular on semi final weekend he gave over 40 minutes reviewing the Summerhill v wolfetones game and not even 5 minutes on the Ratoath win over moynalvey
This is just my opinion

On not allowing fans on the pitch after games. If it is because the pitch was entered in a competition for grounds the County Board have slipped off track and need to go to a seminar on what the GAA is about. These are big Days that draw Communities together and the GAA was always primarily a Community based organisation. How could a grounds competition be more important than allowing players celebrate and get pictures with their families and neighbours ,especially children. Really who cares if the grass gets a prize or not.

Seemingly the county board care a lot if their ground wins an award for the best grass. They certainly wont be winning any awards for the rest of the place, with the state that its in. Embarrassing and unbelievable if that is the actual reason for not letting supporters on the pitch after Saturday and Sundays matches. They had no problem letting kids (and adults) on the pitch at half time in every game last weekend, but I suppose that gets lovely media attention, so can't be not seen to be doing that.

You clearly do not listen often enough as they are always talking about Cilles and Ashbourne's short comings and predicted against Kells most of the year!

You are fully correct about the massive effort Davy puts into creating content, no question and I'm sure he is a great fella
And it was quarter final but when you say who cares about Ratoath or moynavey I'm sure the subscribers to the we are Meath patreon care and should be respected like every other club
Just change it to "we are north Meath "
And call a spade a spade
Hope Colm o rourke agrees with all his team of the weeks selections, this way Castletown, cortown st Bridget's etc will all be represented on Meath team
Can't wait

Its not really biased, the Podcast, while it is a great listen has always been slightly biased towards the Navan and north meath teams. I'm not sure if it was after the 2018 or 2019 championship that Ratoath has won, they ranked the teams in Meath senior prior to the next championship and had Ratoath as the 4th best team in Senior and backed Kells to win Keegan as they were the most "consistent" team in Meath based on their league and Feis cup form. Like I said, they do have a great knowledge base of all teams in the county and are a good listen at times, but anyone who doesn't think they have a bit of a dislike or bias towards the like of Ratoath either doesn't listen to them all the time or has an equal dislike foe them.

It was certainly disappointing that supporters couldn't enter the field, I understand the pride in the pitch and the desire to win awards but sometimes you have to remember what the soul of the GAA is about. My only thinking is that they have a desire to keep the pitch as one of the best in the country in the hope that it may help get more money for the rest of the place. I had my father with me in the stand last Sunday who has had both hips replaced and about 5 back operations after a long career in athletics and by Christ trying to manoeuvre him into a row of seats in that stand is a nightmare, honestly I'm surprised more people aren't falling trying to get in and out if the rows and aisles.

I have to say - I couldn't care less about it! It's just an opinion! People see games in different ways! Rarely is someone from a beaten side picked but often a person on a losing side is the best on the pitch! At the end of the day how important is it!!

Looking forward to The clash of Rhode and Ratoath, as a Bracks man I would have many many friends from Rhode as we border their Parish whilst really admiring and respecting what Ratoath have achieved the last 10 years as a club ( Junior 10 years ago ?).

Hope its a good game, I think if Ratoaths forwards play well they could win this one with a few to spare.

Id image McGill will mark Niall Mac, maybe Eamon W pick up Anton Sullivan. Tullamore should have beaten Rhode but those two men got them over the line along with a few other old heads.

Agree with you. But then what is the problem with some transparency. Why have it at all if the judges cant be disclosed as in other sports & entertainment where people stand up and put their name behind their opinion. If they are that afraid of been known then stand aside. After the referee makes decisions based on opinion but does not were a mask.
