Replying To CastleBravo:  "I'd taken it as a given that any half serious club football and hurling team in the county is training at weekends anyway?

Regarding the fixtures, when the hurling and lower grades are taken into account, there wouldn't be enough time to play every game on a weekend. Realistically it's not that big an issue anyway; clubs have 5 guaranteed Cup games, at most 3 of which will be away, and you'd need to be very unlucky for even 2 of those away games to be the far end of the county. Are players really stepping away because they're inconvenienced for one or two games this summer?"
What about supporters too now that many are allowed into matches. Surely they could have organised the first rounds to be on a weekend day before other competitions begin. To make a 7:45 fixture in parts of North Meath from Dublin City, it could mean leaving early from work and not returning home till close to midnight. Players don't just rack up 10 mins before games and hop in the car at the final whistle.

The season is starting 6 months into the year so it's massively condensed. It would be worse to go with games Saturday and then games Wednesday after that. And there's only 100 allowed in, and there's hardly thousands going to Feis cup games in normal circumstances. I'd much rather midweek games and have quarter finals in the senior championship. We complain about fixtures all the time and rightly so but the think the combining of Feis Cup and league style format was a great idea and there is a meaningful season. If that means that some supporters of some clubs can't make it to every game then so be it

Why would it be worse to start on a weekend? Sure supporters don't matter at all either I guess and there are other competitions for smaller more rural clubs than the Feis Cup.

The hurling cups are on at the weekend, and you can't have the hurling and football directly clashing

So draws made for the championships.
Anyone know how relegation from the IFC will work? 5 groups of 4, presumably with the bottom 2 in each group going into playoffs with (I believe) 3 teams in total being relegated.

Can anyone confirm Junior format also. As there are twelve teams surely it would have been easier to divide into two groups of six with top four in each going to quarter finals or top two in each straight into semis. Also heard they are splitting junior into two divisions next year with 10 teams in junior 1. That would mean four teams getting relegated if three come down from intermediate? How will four teams be relegated from three groups? Is bottom team in each group and then a playoff for the final spot?

Are there really 12 teams in the JFC?

I saw the tweet from Meath GAA and it only had 12 teams with St. Pauls, St. Marys, Clonard and Drumconrath missing. St. Pauls aren't there for obvious reasons, but what's the story with the other 3? Just an error in publishing the competition info?

The other 3 have decided themselves to participate in one of the Premier reserve championships instead.

Does anybody know the format for the hurling knock out in the cups?
How many from each group get into knockouts?
I see the junior cup has 3 groups , but the strongest teams are in group a?

Are they keeping these formats going for or just this year?

JFC in 2022 will have 10 teams the 3 relegated from IFC plus the 8 Quarter Finalists from 2021 less the JFC winners.

Both 2 in each of the JFC groups this year will be relegated to Junior B plus the 4 that opted for Premier.

The 3 JFC groups will be dog eat dog as the difference between finishing 2nd and 3rd is massive

I never agreed with the new championship formats, but even I'm surprised at how it only took one year for them to fall apart.

What's the story with clubs on twitter using @DubMatchTracker? Can they not tag @MeathGAA instead?
