For me, Cillian O'Sullivan. He works very hard, can be found anywhere on the field although usually between the two 40 metre lines. He is essential in how we attack and is one of the few players used as a strike runner and given license to play with abandon. He's under-rated, never injured, hugely fit and can take a tonne of abuse for a guy his size. In our match vs. Kildare this year he stood up and was our best player on the day, in spite of receiving a lot of attention. He deserves a lot of credit for sticking with the jersey and putting in his all through the good and bad days. Young_gael (Meath) - Posts: 596 - 23/11/2020 20:45:37 2314283 Link 20 |

I agree, Cillian for me too. Heart of a lion. Would like to see him at wing back though.

Keoghan by a country mile and has been over the last 4 years plus, and usually does not pass the ball away to the opposition! when going forward. Can also defend very well. Would have easily made any of the AI winning teams. browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2342 - 23/11/2020 22:19:16 2314374 Link 16 |

Agree with Cillian O Sullivan, has made himself Meaths most important player, may be guilty of getting turned over now and again but this is usually well into second half, by then he has covered every blade of grass several times over. Drives team on no matter the opposition, has a great engine, fantastic attitude and lots of skill, this type of player must be a managers dream. seadog54 (Meath) - Posts: 2195 - 09/12/2020 12:25:01 2320613 Link 13 |
Player of the Year? ABD09 (Meath) - Posts: 68 - 09/12/2020 16:04:19 2320714 Link 1 |
We only have 2 players that should even be in this conversation Keoghan & Menton. The rest are mediocre at best. gagaa (Meath) - Posts: 50 - 11/12/2020 14:16:36 2321359 Link 2 |
Marcus for putting up with so many negative comments on social and other media and still putting himself forward. Tried his best every game and had very few mistakes. Poormouth (Meath) - Posts: 204 - 11/12/2020 15:15:37 2321372 Link 2 |

A hard year to pick any team of the year - given there were so few matches to judge teams from and obviously the weighting was going to favour those teams who made the later stages! So only 3 players who didn't start the final in the selection! Hard to argue with any of the 3 of them although I thought Ratoath's most consistent player this year was Gavin McGowan their number 6! That said, Oisin McCluskey did have a good season with two man of the match performances in the 1/4 and 1/2 finals.

Very disappointed in the leadership these guys showed against Dublin. Don't think Menton should be considered in this conversation at all.
