Have not heard about it but I believe an under 19 club Championship might happen after seniors/Juniors over .

That would be disappointing for lads going into their last 2 years of u21. Could be wrong, but I think that's the same group that missed out on a year when they changed minor from u18 to u17.

The lads that missed out that time were born in 2000 but they had a similar competition the previous year
The lads that would miss out this time would be the only Meath team to win an actual competition in years (Please don't cite the O Byrne Cup thing ) This would be a seriously retrograde step for the county and the county board should be contacting like minded counties to allow the U20s to remain. This is the last team to beat Dublin (until this years minors hopefully) at anything and that's probably a coincidence but there is no reason that I can think of to discontinue U20s. It would also make a joke of the county u19 competition as none of those on their final year could be considered
Hopefully the county board can show some political acumen to keep it at 20s and a bit more foresight in coach selection rather than as a Christmas present like last year

I would agree with you on pretty much all of this. But correct if I'm wrong the original poster was asking was their an u20 club championship this year? He probably means u21 which to my knowledge is being changed to u19s. As far as I'm aware there is no plans to change from u20 on the County scene so that would go ahead as u20s next year.

the U20 Inter County Championship has got caught up in the GAA review of Fixtures & Calendar, they are considering bringing back to u19???? i feel this would be wrong and again a number of Players (2001 DoB) would miss out on an important Milestone & opportunity to represent their County.

The iner Club u21's moving to u19s is also madness!!

Ok gotcha. Yeah i agree leave it at u20s sure its not that long gone to 20s. The whole thing is a bit crazy. Some counties still have minor as u18 some have it at u17 likewise with u21 and u20. In my opinion The Gaa should just make a rule and tell all counties its minor u17 then u20s or u18 and u21 whatever they think is the best way to go but it should be uniformed in all counties that everyone that they all have the same age group for minor etc!

It's a farce, more nonsense from the county board, those lads born in 2000 haven't had a proper competition since u16. They have been forgotten and dismissed. You will hear that it's a directive from croke Park, but it's not.
