Leinster Club quarter final: JHC Timber Leavy's men march on

Leinster Club quarter final: JHC Timber Leavy's men march on
Dunderry's Evan Nolan

Dunderry 1-24 Clanna Gael Fontenoy 3-12

The traveling Dubs started better with a brace of points from play. Fagans puck out after the second point was gathered well by Barron and he took the play straight down the middle and pointed on the run. Ciarán O Brien was pulled back on the next attack and Nolan had a handy free to open his account.  Fontenoy retake the lead from play before Luke Martyn tied up proceedings thanks to hard work from Jamie Leavy. A free put the Dublin outfit back in front before Captain Kelly capitalised on the back of dogged play from O Leary, Barron and Crinnion.  Nip and tuck continued with another free for the Ringsend men. The next free they got dropped short and contact was made with the sliothar and the net was rattled. Game on now at double scores to the Dubs.

Evan Nolan had that goal cancled out within a couple of minutes with two frees and a beauty over the shoulder.  Lukey was fouled for the first one after a massive hit from Rian Fay broke up another attack. O Brien and O Leary got the ball to Nolan for his first from play. O Brien was pulled back for the third free. Fontenoy bag a brace and were nicely set up for half time with a three point lead. Nolan to the fore again with a sucker punch of a goal on the stroke of half time.  A thing of beauty.

Half time 1-7 a piece.

The second half started with Nolan being pulled down and he slotted over. Half time substitute Mark Leavy made a big impact and he was fouled on his first two attacks for Nolan to put three between the sides. A Luke Martyn attack drew another whistle followed by a white flag.

More fine fielding from Barron with a lay off to Duffy to pick out Mark Leavy and peach of a point from him. A free keeps the visitors in toucn.

Ciarán O Brien gathered a puck out from Fagan and split the posts. The next play had Duffy pick out O Brien and he doubled his tally.

Clanna Gael went on the attack again but they came a cropper when they met Loughran. He got the ball to Barron who tore down the middle and pointed at full tilt. A free for the Dublin representatives left six between the sides.

Trojan work from O Leary up along the line and a delivery into Mark Leavy saw another cracker of point.

Our seven point lead was down to three by way of a free and a goal from play after a bit of a scramble.

Dunderry had to dig deep now if they want to advance in Leinster.  Martyn was taken down once more and Nolan raised another white flag. Martyn pointed himself next after nice play between Jamie Leavy and Kelly.

Leavy split the posts next after O Leary and Barron combined to find him in space.

The point of the game goes to Ciarán O Brien when he turned his man and and struck a point over his shoulder that John Mullane would be proud of.

A free for C G F was cancelled by another great point from Mark Leavy on his knees.

The Dublin contingent had another sting in their tail however and, with a free and a goal they had the deficit down to three once more.

Nolans next free was his ninth.

This was followed by Mark Leavy's fourth since his introduction at the interval.

When Ciarán O Brien scored his fourth the referee called time and Timber Leavys men march on to a Leinster semi final in a fortnight.
