Cumann na mBunscol: Harte hits five as Kilbride claim first girls' shield

Kilbride defeated St. Anne's in the Girls Division 2/3 Shield final defeated

Kilbride NS, Trim 6-6 St Anne’s NS, Navan 3-0

Kilbride were crowned Girls Division 2/3 Shield winners for the first time in the school’s history with this convincing victory over St Anne’s NS in the penultimate game of the day at St Loman’s Park, Trim.

A brilliant display from Willow Harte was central to Kilbride’s win, with the talented forward finishing with 5-2.

Zoey O’Leary Garry gave St Anne’s a great start with a goal, but Kilbride dominated the remainder of the half.

Scores from Catie Healy-Boyle, Emma Kelly, Rebecca Coleman and Harte helped the winners establish a 2-4 to 1-0 interval lead.

St Anne’s were first on the scoreboard again in the second half with another O’Leary Garry goal, but the remainder of the game belonged to Harte, who accounted for 4-1 of Kilbride’s second-half tally.

After the game, Frank Reidy presented the Division 2/3 Shield to Lila O’Brien.
