Nobber NS 7-5 Kilmainhamwood NS 4-6
Nobber NS wrote their own piece of history by claiming the school’s first-ever girls’ title in the second game of the day at St Loman’s Park, Trim. It was also the first time the school had reached a girls’ final.
Arabella Reilly and Emily Byrne traded goals in the early stages. Unanswered scores from Hollie Clarke McDermott (1-2) and Áine Cox Smyth put the winners in control, and they took a 2-4 to 1-3 lead into the half-time break.
Mila Annett narrowed the gap with an early second-half goal, but Clarke McDermott hit back immediately with her second major.
Katelyn Smyth and Aoife Condra got in on the goalscoring act, and the black and amber led 5-4 to 2-5 with ten minutes remaining.
A Marie Monaghan goal and a Byrne point kept the Wood in the game, but Nobber finished on a high with goals from Áine Cox Smyth and Hollie Clarke McDermott to run out deserving winners.
After the game, Catherine O’Connor presented the Division 4/5 Shield to Hollie Clarke McDermott.
