Declan Lenehan got the scoreboard working for the Stamullen men. Ryan Campbell opened the winners account and at the end of ten minutes they led 1-2 to 0-1 thanks to a Harry Butler white flag and a goal from Conan Clarke. St. Pats hit back. Lenehan and Adam Keogh pointed twice and along with a Cian McCooey goal they led 1-5 to 1-4 with eight minutes left in the half. Evan Flanagan put the Kells side back in front with their second goal and Charlie Twomey made it a three point game just before the short whistle. Half time Gaeil Colmcille 2-5 St. Pats 1-5.

Gaeil Colmcille controlled the early stages of the second half and points from Ross McDonnell, Campbell (2), Fionn Morris opened up a six point lead. St. Pats were right back in it with ten minutes remaining. Tommy Loughran and Lenehan raised green flags and the sides were level 3-8 to 1-11.

For the remainder Gaeil Colmcille dominated. Campbell and Twomey added singles before Conor Og Ferguson kicked the score of the game, a two pointer from way out. Minutes later the midfielder carved the Pats defence open with a run and finished to the net. Another two pointer from a Twomey free left St. Pats with too much to do. To their credit they kept going and were rewarded with another Lenehan goal before referee Peter Skelly blew the full time whistle

After the game Enda Lydon presented the Liam Tolan cup to Max Chamberlayne.
