Longwood 4-11 The Saints 3-5
Longwood claimed the Minor Hurling Championship Division 3 title with nine points to spare over The Saints under lights at Paddy O’Brien Park.
The winners controlled the opening ten minutes and were 0-5 to 0-2 in front thanks to points from James Cully (3) and Ronan Greene (2). The next ten was a goal fest. Conor Heavey brought the Saints back into it with the games first green flag. Longwood responded with three majors from William Phillips and two from the impressive Cully. It didn’t stop there Oisin Moran and Lar Giles traded goals and Longwood took a 4-7 to 2-3 lead to the half time huddle.
The scores dried up in the second half. Cully added another three to his tally. Moran was the last to trouble the scoreboard with a brilliant goal for the Seasiders but the day belonged to Longwood.
After the game Stoney Burke presented the MHC Division 3 Cup to William Phillips.
