Loughcrew Gaels/Gaeil Colmcille 2-13 Kiltale 0-14

After losing out to Dunboyne at the same stage last year Loughcrew Gaels Gaeil Colmcille made amends and took home the Minor Hurling Championship Division 2 title with five points to spare over Kiltale under lights at Paddy O’Brien Park.

Charlie Fox opened the winners account but the remainder of the half was dominated by Luke Harte and Conor Og Ferguson. The joint captains accounted for 2-7 of their teams first half total. The accuracy of Cormac Murray and Jamie Fagan Ashe kept Kiltale in touch and they trailed 2-9 to 0-7 at the break.

Ferguson accounted for all the combination sides second half tally. Despite fine scores from Evan Lawless, Fagan Ashe and Murray Kiltale needed goals and the Loughcrew Gaels Gaeil Colmcille reargaurd were in no mood to surrender the green flag.

After the game Malachy Plunkett presented the MHC Division 2 Cup to joint captains Luke Harte and Conor Og Ferguson.
