Boardsmill had too much in hand for Moynalvey in this Meath Cleaning Supplies JACFC Division 6 round three game played at Kilmore Park Moynalvey on Monday evening 7th September.

The win for Boardsmilll sees them top the group with two wins from two and Moynalvey finish as runners up with one win from their two outings.

The first quarter was a tough one to watch from a Moynalvey perspective as the visitors racked up a seven point to no score lead, Boardsmill points coming from John Mitchell, Darren McDowell (2), Keith Hamilton (3) and Darragh Purcell.

Moynalvey eventually got off the mark through Conor Quinn in the 14th minute, which was followed by points from Jamie Ashe and Aaron Sweeney to make it 0-7 to 0-3 with twenty three minutes played.

Darragh Purcell and Aaron McCabe traded points before Moynalvey suffered the sucker punch of conceding two goals in quick succession just before half time, both finished by James Ashe to make the score 2-8 to 0-4 when referee Robert Lynch blew his half time whistle.

Three Moynalvey points after the break from Aaron Sweeney (2) and Aaron McCabe narrowed the half time deficit back to seven, 2-8 to 0-7.

Four unanswered Boardsmill points left Moynalvey with a mountain to climb as they trailed Boardsmill by eleven points heading into the last quarter. However, Moynalvey kept up the fight and outscored their opponents 1-4 to no score in that final quarter with scores from Aaron McCabe (2), substitutes Paul Conneely and William Harnan; and the goal coming from the raiding full back Charlie Benson in the 60th minute meant four points separated the sides at the full time whistle.

Best for Moynalvey were Aaron McCabe, Jamie Ashe, Charlie Benson, Cian Williams, Aaron Sweeney, Conor Byrne and Paul Conneely.
