Summerhill's Conal O'Reilly in action for the Meath Under 16's

Round 2 of the The Minor Football Championship is complete.

In Division 1 O’Mahony’s continued to hold the upper hand on town rivals Simonstown. On their Trim road pitch the home side recovered from a slow start and a seven-point deficit to trail by 1-5 to 1-8 at the break thanks to a Cormac Fitzsimons goal.

Wind backed in the second half, Hoops midfielder Harry McGuirk landed three stunning two-pointers and goals from substitutes Adam McEvoy and Daniel Joseph saw them win by 10-points.

In Ashbourne the home side ran reigning champions St Colmcilles to three points and were unlucky not to take something from the game.

Summerhill had a statement win over a Dunboyne team that was without the injured Sean Delaney, with goals from Conal O’Reilly, Cormac Murray and Pierce Anderson all but guaranteeing them a semifinal place.

The remaining Division 1 game between St Ultan’s Cortown Gaels and Skryne was postponed due to the tragic passing of TJ McDonnell from Bohermeen.

The two games in Division 2A produced 17 goals.
