Kilmessan 0-19 Kiltale 0-12

Kilmessan sent out a warning shot to all Jubilee Cup contenders with this dominant display over Kiltale in round 2 of the Meath SHC at Lomans Park.

Charlie Keenan’s men dominated from the start. Mark O’Sullivan got the scoreboard working for last year’s finalists but by the 10th minute Kilmessan were 0-4 to 0-1 in front thanks to a brace each from Seanie Doyle and Lorcan Byrne. The eventual winners outscored their opponents 0-6 to 0-1 in the second quarter and go in at the break 0-11 to 0-4 in front.

Mark Horan and Byrne increased that lead early in the second half. A mini revival from Kiltale with points from Jack Regan, Adam Murphy (2) and Peter Durnin narrowed the lead but by the 20th minute Kilmessan were well on their way to the win. Four unanswered points, 3 from Doyle and one from half back Kris Gorman extinguished any hopes of a Kiltale comeback.

Next up for Kilmessan are Trim while Kiltale turn their attention to holders Ratoath.
