Ratoath 1-22 Na Fianna 2-13
After a draw with Kilmessan in the opening round Ratoath picked up their first win in this year’s SHC campaign with six points to spare over a battling Na Fianna side on Pitch 6 at Dunganny.
Na Fianna dominated most of the opening half and led 2-9 to 1-8 at the break. After five minutes it looked like the 2024 and 2025 champions were going to have a comfortable night. Daithi McGowan opened their account before Podge O’Hanrahan added 1-1 to give his side a 1-2 to 0-1 lead. To their credit Na Fianna settled and with two goals from full forward Rory Fagan along with points from Oisin Bright, Peter Slevin, Anthony Healy and Ethan Devine they went to the half time break four points in front.
The Jubilee Cup holders brought more intensity to the second half. By the end of the 3rd quarter they were in front 1-14 to 2-11 thanks to points from the O’Hanrahan’s Podge and Ciaran, Cian Rogers and Liam Kelly.
