St. Michaels 0-19 Kilbride 0-11
St. Michaels moved into second place in division 3 with a game to play following an excellent second half performance in Carlanstown on Saturday evening last. The home side had seven different players get on the scoreboard with Gearóid O'Malley top scoring with 0-7 including a two pointer. O'Malley, Declan Reilly, Brian O'Reilly, C.J. Lynch, Lee Morris and Paddy Tobin all pointed in the opening half however the visitors led by two at the break 0-9 to 0-7 having penetrated a rather porous home defence on several occasions and but for some heroic work from Graham Dooner between the St. Michaels posts that lead could have been greater.
C.J. Lynch opened the scoring two minutes into the new half, Kilbride replied with a brace of minors a couple of minutes later which proved to be their only scores of the second half, what was said in the home dressing room during the interval we will never know but it worked as the home defence put in an excellent half hours work while the mid-field duo of Matthew Halpin and Cian Sheridan owned possession on kick-outs while feeding their forwards who made hay up in front of the posts.
