St Brigids 0-19 St Ultans 1-14
Round 9 of the League on Thursday evening saw us take on St Ultans at home. Despite the heavy rain that fell all day it stopped raining an hour before throw in and the rain held off until the match finished.
St Ultans started the brighter and had 1-02 on the board before we scored our first point in the ninth minute. We settled into the game at this stage and by halftime we were just a point adrift with the score reading 1-03 to 0-05 in the visitors favour. The second half followed the same script with the teams exchanging scores so that by the 48th minute we were level at 0-11 to Ultans 1-08 with help from Cormac Brownes two 2 pointers from play in this period.
The game then burst into life with Brigids notching eight points to Ultans six for the rest of the contest with Cian Blake helping himself to four of these points in this spell to run out winners by two at the end. Special mention to our entire defences massive workrate with Michael and David also putting in a big shift in the engine room as well as Cian and Cormac with the big scores when needed. This result means we have made the semi-final of the League with home advantage still with two games remaining.
