The home side opened with two goals and it seemed like Bhulf Tón would be in for a tough evening but to their credit they overcame the early setback to lead by three at half time. Half time score Bhulf Tón 3-03 Kilmainhamwood 2-03.                                                                                     

The second half saw Tones build on this lead only to be pegged back and they had to come from behind to level with just five minutes remaining. The excitement reached fever pitch as the result was very much in the balance. However Alex McKeever expertly converted a penalty after a goal bound Rian Ó Fianaidhe was taken down and this proved to be the decisive score as although the ‘Wood pressed hard, scoring a point to they couldn’t close the gap before the final whistle.

The home ground is a credit to the club and is one of the best grounds in the county to view a game situated as it is in a natural amphitheatre. Tones line out again on Sunday away to Dunshaughlin at 12.30.
