Cortown reserve team returned to winning ways after suffering their first defeat of the campaign last weekend with a relatively comfortable home victory over Moynalty's third string on Thursday evening.

The winners only led by one at the interval, 1-5 to 1-4 but a strong third quarter laid the foundations with Tommy Smith notching a hattrick of two two-pointers from play. The full forward line of Conor Mulroe, Brían Smith and Kian Fitzsimons all raised green flags on the evening for Davy Wright's team who joined Dunsany and Eastern Gaels at the summit of the Division.
