Home side Dunboyne got off to a flying start in the basking Tuesday evening heat, opening up a lead of 0-05 to 0-00 before their old rivals in purple and gold completely dominated the remainder of the first half with Caolan and Fiachra Ward and Tomas O'Reilly leading a blitz of scores which saw the visitors eek out a 0-06 to 1-10 half time lead.

Again, the locals did spring to life in the third quarter as Charlie Gallagher, Sean Delaney and the introduced Darragh Nolan posted a flurry of points to get Dunboyne back to within a goal before a Caolan Ward two-point free finally settled the issue.
