Navan O’Mahony’s and Oldcastle couldn’t be separated in this Div 4 FL encounter in Milbrook in pleasant conditions on Saturday evening. 

There was two goals within the first ninety seconds, with Oldcastle scoring one from the throw in and Sophie Brady responding immediately for O’Mahony’s. The sides exchanged points, with Cara Ratty, Alison O’Toole and Grace Cahill all scoring for O’Mahony’s before Oldcastle got their second goal. Although O’Toole and Ratty added points, Oldcastle finished the half strong and had a two-point advantage at the break.D

The hosts kept going strong in the third quarter and had extended their lead to six points. Chloe Duffy found the net to bring O’Mahony’s back into it and added a point to reduce the gap further. After an O’Toole free, Oldcastle extended the lead to three again with two points. The game looked set for a draw when Ratty found the net but there was more drama to come. Oldcastle pointed from play and injury time free from O’Toole was required to salvage a draw for O’Mahony’s.
