Seneschalstown 1-08 Curraha 6-10
Seneschalstown’s third string began their Football League Division 10 campaign with a heavy defeat to a strong Curraha outfit on Thursday evening in Fr. Tully Park.
There was a strong wind blowing up the pitch Curraha certainly made good use of it in the first half when they notched up five of their six goals. Seneschalstown battled in earnest and were rewarded with a goal from Tommy Walsh in the 14th minute which at the time reduced the deficit to two points. Walsh and Ross Mullen from a free had previously added points for Seneschalstown up to that moment in the game. Seneschalstown’s only other point in the half came from Joe Norris as Curraha totally dominated the second quarter as they carried a big lead into half time.
Backed by the wind, Seneschalstown produced a better second half display and kept plugging away diligently. Jamie Barry got two points in quick succession in the third quarter but Curraha ran in their sixth goal shortly afterwards.
In the final ten minutes, Ross Mullen kicked his second of the night while Shane Mulvany also added two points to his name but unfortunately Seneschalstown were still well behind by the time the full time whistle went.
