With a strong wind that didn’t really help either side, both teams struggled to get on the scoreboard in this low-scoring encounter at Paddy O'Brien Park.

Louis Collins started the scoring in the fourth minute, adding another a few minutes later. 

The wides kept piling up for O’Mahony’s before Cormac Nugent got his first score ten minutes later. Points followed from Nugent and Shane McCarthy before the break, leaving O’Mahony’s with a 0-05 to 0-00 advantage at the break. 

Drumconrath kicked their first score of the match early in the second half, and duly followed up with another two in quick succession to leave two points between the sides. Points were exchanged with Clayton O’Sullivan kicking two for O’Mahony’s. Tom Cully’s hard work throughout the match was rewarded when he put distance between the sides with a goal. Max Farrelly scored O’Mahony’s last point of the game. The visitors narrowed the gap with two late frees, one of which was a two-pointer.
