Castletown started life in Division 3 with a twenty point win over local rivals Syddan on Friday evening under lights in Castletown.
The winners were 1-10 to 2 pts up at the break with four pointed frees from Rian McConnell, Adam Matthews with a goal, two points from play for Dan Moran and one each for Kevin Ross, Mark Kelly Daragh Kelly and Sean Mc Keown.
A Kevin Ross free and a point from play for Killian Markey started the scoring for the second period and Syddan replied on 38 minutes with their third point. Further points from second half substitutes Darren Finney 3pts (one 2 pointer), two from Declan Cribbin and one each from Conall Sheridan and Darragh Weldon gave Castletown this comprehensive victory over their Killary Emmets combination partners Syddan.
