Kilmessan, without five players on county duty, finally got their season up and running with this Brendan Davis Cup clash against Kildalkey in Kilmessan.

The game marked a senior debut for Conor Horan.

A goal from top scorer Mark Horan gave the home side a 1-9 to 0-10 interval lead. Kilmessan led 1-13 to 0-13 as the game entered the last ten minutes but a scoring burst for the visitors gave them a two point win at the full time white
