Tailteann Cup: Browne stars as Brigids hit the ground running

St Brigids welcomed Ballinlough to Ballinacree for the first round of the Tailteann Cup on Sunday morning. Despite all of the rainfall during the week ground conditions were excellent which led to a great game played in great spirit.

Ballinlough got off the mark first with a point followed by a free from Cormac Browne in the second minute. The lead was traded on several occasions in the first half but it was Brigids who led at the break by two 0-08 to 0-06 with a Cormac two pointer free the difference between the sides.

Ballinlough managed to get level by the fortyfifth minute at 0-10 each but the hosts finished the game stronger hitting eight points to Ballinloughs four in the last fifteen minutes to hold on for the win.

Special mention for Conor Russell who made his adult debut for Brigids today.
