Kilcloon N.S. 3-7
Bohermeen N.S. 0-7
Kilcloon and Bohermeen brought proceedings to an end with the Boys Division 2 final played in front of a large crowd at the Ashbourne venue. After a very exciting encounter Kilcoon took home their first boys football title since 1997.
Midfielders Thomas Murray (2) and William Kelly gave Bohermeen early control of the game but for the remainder of the half Kilcloon through the impressive Oisin Burke dominated. The Kilcloon captain kicked five points and along with one from Liam Farrelly, Noel O’Hora’s team led 0-6 to 0-3 at the break.
That lead was extended early in the second half with a brace of goals from Charlie Cosgrave and another point from Burke. Murray kept Bohermeen going with another brace before a third goal arrived for the winners courtesy of full forward Sean Roturier. Murray added his sixth point but the goals they needed never arrived and Kilcloon were crowned champions.
After the game Willie Lyons presented the Division 2 cup to Oisin Burke.
