The old adage that goals win matches helped Navan O’Mahony’s Junior A camogs join the Senior B side in the final, with a win over Dunderry in Dunganny on Sunday afternoon.

Lizzy Brennan got the first score of the match with a point from play after two minutes. Five minutes later, Dunderry converted a free to go level before they edged ahead within thirty seconds. Brennan brought the lead back to her side with a goal after a play through Lilly Dwyer and Mia McNally.

This was short-lived with Dunderry responding with a goal within sixty seconds. In the thirteenth minute, Brennan picked out Ruth Stewart with a pass before she found the net to put O’Mahony’s ahead again. Six minutes later, McNally found the net to extend the lead.

There was five minutes remaining in the half, Brennan was dispossessed heading towards the goal. Dwyer then dispossessed the Dunderry player and passed to McNally, whose shot was saved before Brennan finished to the net. The last score of the half came from a Dunderry free.
