Castletown progressed to their first Intermediate final in eighteen years with the nine points victory over championship favourites Moynalvey.
The winners led from pillar to post and were wondering at halftime would a seven points advantage be enough to get them through turning into a stiff breeze for the second half. Declan Cribbin 0-2 in the half opened the scoring with scores from Darren Finney 0-2, Kevin Ross 0-3 (1f/1-2ptf), Daragh Weldon 0-1, Rian McConnell 0-5 (1-2ptf&1f), Killian Price 0-1, Adam Matthews 0-1, to Moynalveys 0-9.
Killian Smyth scored a point straight from the throw in for the second half and on 37 minutes Castletown were 11 points ahead but Moynalvey were not finished 2 two pointers and a goal in a ten minute spell left only four between the sides. Then Castletown clicked into gear again and scored the remaining five points to book their place in the final.
