Kildalkey 3-11 Clann na nGael 1-9
Kildalkeys third string avoided the drop to Junior B following this JHC Relegation Final against neighbours Clann na Gael played at Dunganny.
A wholehearted gutsy display from young and not so young was enough to win this game as they put in their best performance of the year.
Goals from Daire Lehart and Jordan walsh along with some super points from Evan Geoeghan (3 frees ) and young James Potterton (2 ) left the men in blue 2-5 to 0-4 ahead but they knew Clann na Gael were going to up a gear in the second half with so much at stake but 2 quick fire scores from Stevie Murray got them going again while midfielder Robbie Johnston then hit a pair of long range points to keep the pressure on only for Clann na Gael to hit back with a scrambled goal and a brace of scores to close the gap .
James Potterton then pounced for a kicked goal followed by a huge score from the wing to bring his tally to 1-3 while Evan Geoeghan hit the last one from distance to seal the win and keep the club in junior A for 2026
Every player on the Kildalkey team played their part in a great team performance with Heroic displays from everyone but Long serving Enda Fitzgerald deserves a special mention as he rolled back the years to keep the Clann na Gael men at bay especially against the strong wind in the first half
A great mix of young and experience being key to victory for the village
