Na Fianna 4-14 Dunderry 2-10

Na Fianna claimed the Junior B Hurling Championship title with this comfortable win over Dunderry at Pairc Tailteann.

Just two points separated the sides at the break, the eventual winners leading 1-9 to 1-7. Dunderry opened the scoring through Jack Darcy but Na Fianna hit back with 1-1 from Will Flynn and a pointed free from Conor Cummins. By the 13th minute Dunderry were back in front. A brace from Cian Coogan was followed by a Darcy goal and the men in white led by two. With ten minutes left in the half Dunderry were still one up but a scoring burst that yielded five points, 3 from full forward Kevin Coffey, gave Na Fianna a two point lead at the break.

Na Fianna made their push for home in the third quarter. Flynn pointed before setting up Cummins for their second goal. Substitute Barry Slevin pointed twice and on the 15th minute his speculative shot decieved Dunderry keeper Killian Heffernan and ended up in the net. Na Fianna now in control 2-13 to 1-8. Dunderry never lost hope. Sean McLoughlin pointed before Cian Coogan fired to the net to leave four in it. Na Fianna were not to be denied. Flynn steadied the ship with a brilliant point before Cummins got in for his second goal and they were on their way to the title.
