Navan O’Mahonys 0-13, Wolfe Tones 5-9
Navan O’Mahonys Ladies faced Wolfe Tones on the Trim Road on Thursday evening in the latest round of the Kepak Junior B Championship.
Wolfe Tones struck early with two goals and a pair of points inside the opening ten minutes, forcing O’Mahonys onto the back foot. The girls in blue and white responded with determination, Alison O’Toole proving accurate from frees, while Aoibhin Kielty and Cara Ratty chipped in from play and placed ball. Despite creating several goal chances, O’Mahonys were denied by sharp goalkeeping. Wolfe Tones finished the half with a late point to leave it 2-4 to 0-6 at the break.

O’Mahonys came out strongly after the restart, with early scores from Jorja Keogh, Abbie McCullagh, and further frees from O’Toole narrowing the gap. Cara Ratty also added a fine effort from play. The defence worked tirelessly, with Lauren Patterson pulling off several key saves and her experienced back line of Dee Forde and Áine Clarke stepping up with important blocks and interceptions. However, Wolfe Tones’ finishing power told in the closing stages, adding three more goals and stretching their lead. O’Mahonys never stopped battling, raising the white flag 13 times in total and showing plenty of heart and promise for the final group game.
