MFL Div 2 final: Walsh and Foley star as Trim claim two in a row

Trim were comfortable winners over Skryne in this Minor Football League Division 2 final played in Pairc Tailteann. The Town side defeated Walterstown in the 2024 decider at the same venue to complete a two in a row. PHOTOS

From the throw in Trim dominated. Playing with the breeze they went in at the break 1-11 to 0-1 in from. The impressive attacking duo of Tadhg Foley and Cormac Walsh landed three points each before Walsh raised the games first green flag from the penalty spot. DJ O’Reilly put Skryne on the scoreboard after 20 minutes but Trim added another four points to go in at the break 13 in front.

The Tara men got the opening score of the second half but there was no stopping Walsh and Foley. Both kicked two points each before Walsh was in for his second goal. The talented corner forward finished out proceedings with 1-1 and the title was heading to Trim for the second year in a row.

After the game Minor Board Secretary David Campbell presented the cup to Trim captain Ruairi McCaffrey.
