FL Div 3A: Encouraging display by Kilmainham

June 07, 2025

Kilmainham's Mickey Newman

Clann na nGael 3-11 Kilmainham 1-10

A solid all-around display by the lads tonight ultimately came up short in the end.

There was nothing between the sides in the first half. We were unlucky with two goal chances that sodnt come off after great team play. Three goals by the Athboy men in the second half proved decisive in the end result. Our lads kept battling and got a goal of their own through Conor Leonard after a well worked team move. While the end result was disappointing, the work rate and teamwork by the lads were excellent. There is plenty to build on and plenty of positives for the summer ahead.

We would like to wish Conor Leonard a speedy recovery after an injury that he sustained in tonight's match.

Thanks for all the support for the team this evening.

Best for Kilmainham tonight were: Stephen Newman, Mickey Newman, Kieran Needle, Harry Newman, and Padraig Caffrey.
