Drumbaragh 3-13 Nobber 0-9
Drumbaragh made the home and wind advantage count with a comprehensive victory over Nobber earlier today.
A blistering first half display from the home side saw them lead at the break 2-10 to 0-00. The foundations for victory laid with goals Harry O'Higgins and Jake Madden, ably assisted by Hughie Corcoran and Liam Ward.
Shea McManus and Tomás Doogan were dominant once again around the middle, with Evan DeMange and Adam O'Brien bringing pace and power in both defence and attack.
An O'Brien goal on 35 minutes added to an impressive team tally, but credit to a depleted Nobber side, they dug in and made full use of the wind. Two quick points and a Thomas Murtagh two-pointer took the bad luck off the scoreboard. Corcoran and Ward quelled the Nobber momentum with a point apiece.
The game now done as a contest, which afforded Rob Wall to ring the changes in the final quarter. Two further two pointers from Nobber brought some respectability to the scoreline as the game drew to a close.
Not the second half performance we expected from The Drums, but the first half showed Drumbaragh at their best. Quick hands, intricate passing, slick movement and clinical in front of the posts.
Next up in Round 3 is a home fixture against Slane on Sunday, April 6th at 11am.
