Tailteann Cup: Kelly fires Dunderry to opening round victory

February 10, 2025

Dunderry's Adam Kelly

Dunderry's opening game in the Tailtean Cup was at home in their very well presented grounds. The home and away crowds got to witness the new rules competitively at club level for the first time.

Dunderry looked sharp in the opening half with a youthful team bringing plenty of attacking options for the new management team. The home side led 1-9 to 0-3 at the break.

Moylagh worked their way back into the game and raised a brace of orange flags during their period of dominance.  Dunderry had enough though and running on six subs helped the cause, as the new rules are a good test of fitness.

Dunderry scorers: Adam Kelly 0-9 (7 frees), Ciarán Sheridan 1-0, Rian Liggan 0-2, Donagh O Laoire, Jack Connelly and Cathal Baron 0-1 each.

Dunderry: Eoin Kelly, Tadhg Dowd, Conor Leavy, TJ Loughran, William Tracy, Oisin O Neill, Donagh Ó Laoire, Cathal Barron, Conor Sheridan, Jack Connelly, Seán Traynor, Rian Liggan, Isaac McKeever, Adam Kelly, Ciarán Sheridan

Subs all used: Jack Darcy, Ciarán Brady, Nial Darcy, Ben Feeney, Harry Crinion, Kyran Woods
