Navan O'Mahony's Cormac Keyes celebrates during the IHC final against Drumree at Pairc Tailteann

Navan O’Mahony’s made the return to the top table after their five point win over Drumree in the IHC final at Páirc Tailteann. The Hoops made up for the disappointment of losing to Kildalkey in a replay last year.

Ben McEntagart, Cormac O’Shea, Jack McConnell and Paddy Dillon had some brilliant moments in the Blue and White during the campaign.

Josh Wall, Kevin Bawle and David Reilly were brilliant for Drumree as they made it all the way to the final. Rathmolyon’s day is surely just around the corner and with players like Simon Ennis and Sean and Kevin Mulligan at their disposal they won’t have long to wait for a county title. Donaghmore Ashbourne’s Michael O’Sullivan remains one of the best forwards in this grade and he was their driving force as they made it to the last four. Daire Shine, Seanie Geraghty and Willie McGrath led the way as Kilskyre/Moylagh claimed the Intermedite B crown.

Our award goes to Cormac Keyes. The O’Mahonys captain was an inspiration to all around him as they made a return to senior level. A tower of strength at centre back with a real eye for a score. The No. 6 hit four points at crucial stages in the final and two in the extra time semi final win over Rathmolyon. He delivered one of the finest acceptance speeches Páirc Tailteann has seen in a long time, including a fitting tribute to the late Donal Fitzsimons and Zak Moran.

Well done Cormac
