Ratoath 1-21 Kilmessan 1-11

Ratoath are back in the Meath Senior Hurling Championship final for the third year in a row after this comfortable win over Kilmessan at a wet and windy Pairc Tailteann.

Cian Rogers and Padraig O’Hanrahan put Ratoath in front in the early stages. A Darren Reilly brace levelled matters before Ratoath took control. By the 20th minute Mickey Cole’s men were 0-11 to 0-4 in front with some fine scores from the O’Hanrahan brothers Padraig and Ciaran, Rogers, Sean Corbett and Daithi McGowan. Kyle Donnelly, Mark Hoaran and Seanie Doyle sent over points to keep Kilmessan in it but just before the break Gavin McGowan struck for the games only goal and Ratoath went in at half time 1-15 to 0-8 in front.

Nicky Horan’s charges got a great start to the second half with a goal from Jack Cottrell but they could not push on from there. O’Hanrahan (3) and Gavin McGowan kept the scoreboard working for Ratoath who were playing into the wind. With their defence on top Kilmessan were limited to three points for the remainder of the half and Ratoath were well on their way to another county final where they will meet Trim in a repeat of the 2022 decider.
