JFC Group C: Cottrell goal crucial as Dunsany pick up second win

Dunsany picked up their second win of the Junior Football Championship Group D campaign with three points to spare over Clann na nGael in a very entertaining clash at Boardsmill.

Mark Horan and Eoin Harkin gave Dunsany an early lead but by the 15th minute Clann na nGael were in front with points from Ben Corkery (2), Jack Doherty, Eoin Kelleher and Shane McAnarney. Harkin twice, Harry Cahill with his second and Kris Gorman raised white flags and Dunsany went to the half time huddle 0-8 to 0-5 in front.

Clann na nGael dominated the third quarter. Corkery (3), Sean Og Tiernan and Eamon Og O Donnchadha pointed before Ryan McNamee got the games first goal and put his team 1-10 to 0-10 in front.

Dunsany responded to that goal in fine style with scores from Harkin, Alex Brady, Cathal Murphy and Jack Cottrell to level matters at 1-11 to 0-14. The games crucial score came soon after when Cottrell soccer styled to the Clann na nGael net. Philly Garry and Harkin traded points before the final whistle as Dunsany claimed another championship victory.
