JHC Group A: Kildalkey no match for Kiltale

August 18, 2024

Kildalkeys Will Power

Kildalkeys third team faced off against Kiltale's second team on Wednesday night in Rathmolyon and despite their best efforts went down by 2-15 to 1-7 .

Kiltale were a bigger more physical team and dominated for long spells and deservedly won the game.

Will power hit 2 frees and Tom McGee from play were Kildalkeys only scorers in the first half while Kiltale notched 1-10.

Only for some  good defending from Conor Flynn in goals Kevin Murray Enda Fitzgerald and Liam Carroll thing might have been a lot worse as the forced their opponents to hit some wides and the margin could’ve been wider.

Power hit 2 more frees an got on the end of a scrambled goal to give his team some hope and Flynn from a monster long range free and one from Sean Heavey closed the gap to 6 but a mistake out the field gave kiltale the ball and a long ball in was caught by Paul Garvey to score their second goal and the hit 2 more points to leave it 2-15 to 1-7 at the finish.

It wasn’t Kildalkeys night but if they win their last game they’ll progress to a semi final so all is not lost.
