IHC Group B: Comprehensive win for the Village

Rathmolyon began their Intermediate Hurling Championship campaign with a comprehensive win over St. Patrick's.

The youthfull Village team led by Andrew Dermody on a glorious evening with perfect hurling conditions were fast out of the traps with a Jarlath Ennis point.  

The Village  kept the scoreboard ticking over during the first half. With Joey Christie and Arthur Doyle clocking up a point each as they made their adult Championship debut with the help of fellow debutane Seán Howley.

Goals came from Ciaran Regan and Kevin Mulligan to bring the Village to the break on a healthy lead of 2-12 to 0-5.

Despite St. Pats efforts to close the lead and with some excellent saves by their keeper Rathmolyon powered on with another Kevin Mulligan goal sealing the first round win for The Village
