Delighted with Longwood's win over Blackhall Gaels

A just like that in the blink of an eye the opening round of the Meath Senior and Intermediate hurling championship is over.

Pairc Tailteann played hosts to all of the senior championship games. The standard of hurling seen on the perfect sod at the Navan venue was outstanding. It started last Wednesday with that entertaining draw between Kiltale and Ratoath. Kilmessan showed signs of returning to the glory days with a seven point win over Clann na nGael on Wednesday night. Daire O’Driscoll’s goal proved crucial as Dunderry made a winning start on Friday. The two outstanding displays were on Saturday with Longwood and Trim convincing winners. Killyon closed the six card senior programme with a seven point win over Na Fianna today.

Intermediate Hurling champions Kildalkey made a winning start in the defence of their title this morning at Rathmolyon. Last years finalists O’Mahonys had six points to spare over Donaghmore Ashbourne.
