Dunshaughlin U15's celebrate after their win over Summerhill in the premier 1 final

Well done to the Dunshaughlin U15 boys Prem 1 team sponsored by Parcel Concierge who came out on top of a very entertaining final v Summerhill in Boardsmill last Sunday morning.

Dunshaughlin raced into an early 1-03 to no score lead but were pegged back by two first half expertly taken Conal O Reilly penalties as Summerhill had a period of dominance. Dunshaughlin turned at half time 2 points behind on the scoreboard.

Straight from the 2nd half throw-in a really well taken goal by Craig Foley following two quick passes from Jamie Quirke & Conor McCarthy put Dunshaughlin back in front and it was a lead they held all the way to the finish.

For Dunshaughlin Conor McBride had a very solid game in goals with excellent kick-outs all through. He was very well protected by Rian McCarrick, Sean Jones and Conor Ennis in the full-back line. Peter Finnegan and Mathew Barrett swept up at half back and got forward at every opportunity. Bobby Lynam at centre-back had a typically all action display and he drove the team forward with his best display of the year. Chris McEntagart and Craig Foley ran all day and never stopped tracking their runners with Foley also chipping in with 1-1 from play. Our half forward line kept showing well for the ball and Bobby Collins scored 2 points with Tom McEntagart working hard to set up several scores helping us to help us keep our noses in front. Jamie Quirke kept the score board ticking with 7 points from frees and also added 3 points from play. Cormac O Callaghan, Cian O Donnell and Conor McCarthy all had very strong games with O’ Donnell working hard from start to finish and raising two green flags. Conor played a much deeper role acting as the main link man between midfield and half-forwards and played his role to perfection.

Thanks to all the lads who supported from our U13 team with Rian McCarrick, Jack Lynch, Fionn Byrne, Seanie McCarthy and Ross Herlihy all playing up to make up our panel. Thanks also to our team mascot Darcy McCormack who is our biggest supporter!

Well done to Summerhill who had really strong performers in Conor Rispin at full-back , Conal O Reilly at mid-field and Liam Fagan in the forwards. Both teams were short several regulars due to the holiday season and I’m sure they will have many more great battles ahead.

Also thanks to referee Bernard Heaney and to Boardsmill for hosting. The pitch was in pristine condition and really enabled both teams to play open football.

Finally thanks to the large number of supporters who travelled not just from our U15 Div 2 and Prem 1 teams but also those who travelled from the wider club to support the boys. Conor McBride and Kyle Smith proudly accepted the Cup on behalf of the club and McBride gave a great speech thanking Summerhill for such a competitive and sporting match.
