Bhulf Tón 2-8 Gaeil Colmcille 1-6
Ghlac sé deich noiméad sular tháinig an chéad scór i bPáirc Bhaile Ghib agus ag leath ama bhí Bhulf Tón chun deiridh le ceithre chúilín. Ach le taispeántas laidir sa dara leath bhuaigh siad an cluiche le cúig chúilín.
There was a slow and tactical pace to the first quarter of this game in a slippy Páirc Baile Ghib on Saturday in the new u19 shield competition. Both teams registered a point a piece in that time but it was the Kell’s men who finished the half the strongest and thanks to a goal from a penalty, they lead at the break 1-4 to 0-3.
Tones came out with renewed vigour and directness to their play in the second half and clawed their way back into the game with a Rian Fox goal. A superb point from play from Dylan McFadden and a 45 from Daniel McHugh had the Tones men 3 up on 54 minutes. Gaeil Colmcille pulled it back to two shortly afterwards and the game hung in the balance until an exquisite pass from Alex McKeever set up his cousin Shane McKeever and he buried the ball in the back of the net with the final whistle approaching.
This was a competitive game of football played in a good spirit and plenty of encouraging performances throughout, next up Summerhill.
