Lismullen NS claimed the Girls Division 2 Football title in the first game of Day 2 in the Allianz Meath Cumann na mBunscol finals at Pairc Tailteann. It was the school's first girls title since 2015. PHOTOS

Bohermen dominated the opening fifteen minutes and playing with the wind in to the O’Mahony’s end led 1-5 to 0-0. Ella Weldon was outstanding in this period scoring 1-4. The introduction of Poppy Kiernan had the desired effect for the Lismullen girls and before the break the talented forward raised two green flags to leave just two points between the sides at the break.

With the elements on their back Lismullen controlled the second half. Points from Saoirse Roche and Iris Farrelly (2) put them ahead for the first time. Another substitute Cara Reynolds got in for their third goal midway through the half and Lismullen were well on their way to victory.

To their credit Bohermeen never gave up and were rewarded with a goal from full forward Hollie Rose McDonnell before the final whistle.

After the game James Brennan presented the Girls Division 2 Cup to Lismullen joint captains Grace Gibbons and Iris Farrelly.
