Scoil Ui Conaill win 3-2 on penalties.

Rathkenny made their exit from the Leinster Club IFC at the semi final stage after penalties against Scoil Ui Conaill at Pairc Tailteann. The Dublin champions won the shoot out 3-2.

Rathkenny led at the break 0-6 to 0-5 and totally dominated the opening 12 minutes of the second half to lead 1-9 to 0-5, Eoghan Heavey’s goal leaving seven points between the teams. 

Scoil Ui Conaill responded in fine style with their first goal on the 45th minute and six minutes later they raised their second green flag. With normal time almost up they were one in front until Keith Curtis forced extra time. Rathkenny 1-11 Scoil Ui Conaill 2-8.

Points from Keith (2) and David Curtis gave the Meath champions a two point lead, 1-14 to 2-9, at half time in extra time but the Dublin champions tagged on two points while holding Rathkenny scoreless in the second half and bring the game to penalties.
