St. Brigid's Peter Moore shoots during the Reserve Division 3 final against Longwood at Dunganny

St Brigid's 3-12 Longwood 1-05

Dunganny was the venue as St Brigid's and Longwood met in the final of the Reserve Cup Division 3.

Cian Blake got the opening score in the first minute, a point which was followed closely by Longwood's first score, a goal which they followed up with a point to move themselves three points clear with only three minutes on the clock. Brigid's steadied the ship from then though and by the fifteenth minute had drawn level with two points from the evergreen Peter Moore and one from Jack Blake. Two points followed for Longwood to which Cormac Brown had the perfect reply when he hit the net on twenty six minutes and Peter Moore closed out the scoring for the half with a pointed free to leave the halftime score 1-05 to 1-03 in our favour.

Peter Moore added to his tally with a pointed mark within minutes of the restart followed by a Cian point again. Two more points from that man again Peter Moore followed by two from Jack moved us eight clear by the fifty sixth minute. Longwood nabbed the next two minors before Bobby Masterson kicked a point and Cormac hit the Longwood net again to cement our victory. AJ Gilsenan finished a flowing Brigid's move to the net to finish out the scoring for the match and when the final whistle blew the celebrations started as another Cup was destined for Ballinacree. A strong second half performance was key to our victory where every Brigid's player gave 110% and worked hard and scrapped for every ball as if their life depended on it.

After the match our own Martin Blake who is the Meath County Board Coaching Officer presented the Cup to Captain Oisin Smyth.
