Slane 2-10 Moynalty 0-10

Two goals in the opening 10 minutes boosted Slane to a six point JFC B final win over Moyalty in the Pairc Tailteann curtain raiser on Saturday. PHOTOS

The impressive Podge McGowan and Matt Tully were the goalscorers for the team in royal blue jerseys who went on to lead by 2-6 to 0-4 at half-time.

The commitment of both sets of supporters enhanced the atmosphere but it was Slane's day as they collected the Fintan Ginnity Cup. When they last landed this title in 1993 it was with their second team.

A resilient Moynalty got to within five points of the eventual winners but never recovered from those two early setbacks.
