Meath Hill and Dunderry battled it out in their opening Intermediate fixture in horrific conditions at Castletown.
The pitch held up very well but it was not a night for attractive football. It was a case of getting the job done. Which Meath Hill did as they overcame Dunderry by ten points on a scorline of Meath Hill 1-13 Dunderry 0-6.
Meath Hill opened the scoring with a well pointed effort from Gary Breslin, further scores from Ryan Owens and Cormac Sheehy meant that Meath Hill went in at the break 4 to the good.
There was a frenetic start to the second half as Meath Hill were awarded a penalty and Dominic Yorke which was dispatched to the corner of the net by Dominic Yorke.
