Ryan Carter was the hero for Lismullen NS when his late late goal sealed the Hurling Shield title in dramatic fashion. It was the schools first year entering a team into the competition. PHOTOS

Kilcloon got a great start with two quick goals from Bobby Collins and another green flag raised by Matthew Fogarty gave them a 3-1 to 0-3 half time lead. Luke Donnelly Reynolds accounted for the Lismullen first half tally.

The boys in Black and White dominated the second half. Donnelly Reynolds netted twice and another goal from Cathal Farrell had Lismullen in front as the game entered the final minutes. Collins levelled for Kilcloon and just when extra time seemed on the cards Carter struck for the match winning goal.

After the game referee and recent Christy Ring Cup winner Ger Dwane presented the Shield to a delighted Lismullen captain Simon Hobbs.
